What is the Twitter?, History Twitter.and Terms on Twitter

Is a social network Twitter allows users to send plain text messages of up to 140 characters, calledtweets, which are displayed on the user's home page. Users can subscribe to tweetsfrom other users this is called continue and subscribers are called followers or tweeps('Twitter' + 'peeps'). By default, messages are public and may privatize to display onlytheir followers. Users can twitter from the web service, official external applications  (such as smartphones), or Short Message Service (SMS) available in certaincountries. While the service is free, access to it through SMS incur fees set by the wireless provider.

Twitter started as a research and development within Obvious, LLC, a small start-up ofSan Francisco during March 2006. The original name of the product was twttr, inspiredby Flickr. At first it was used internally by the company until it was officially launched tothe public in October of that year. The service quickly began to gain currency, and inMarch 2007 won the South by Southwest Web Award in the category of blog.

Jack Dorsey is the father of this web application and current Chairman of the Board of Directors of Twitter, Inc, a company that grew out of Obvious, LLC and the success ofTwitter. In early 2008, the Twitter team was composed of 18 persons in 2009 haveincreased its staff by four and still growing.

Que es el twitter? La historia de twitter. y terminos de Twitter

   Es una red social que permite a los usuarios enviar mensajes en texto plano de un máximo de 140 caracteres, llamados tweets, que se muestran en la página principal del usuario. Los usuarios pueden suscribirse a los tweets de otros usuarios, a esto se le llama seguir y a los suscriptores se les llaman seguidores o tweeps ('Twitter' + 'peeps'). Por defecto, los mensajes son públicos, pudiendo privatizarlos para mostrarlos únicamente a sus seguidores. Los usuarios pueden twittear desde la web del servicio, aplicaciones oficiales externas (como para smartphone), o por el Servicio de mensajes cortos (SMS) disponibles en ciertos países. Si bien el servicio es gratis, acceder a él vía SMS incurrirá en tarifas fijadas por el proveedor de telefonía móvil. La web ha ganado popularidad mundialmente y se estima que tiene más de 200 millones de usuarios, generando 65 millones de tweets en un día y manejando más de 800.000 peticiones de búsqueda diarias. A veces es descrito como el "SMS de Internet"

Twitter comenzó como un proyecto de investigación y desarrollo dentro de Obvious, LLC, un pequeño start-up de San Francisco durante marzo del 2006. El nombre original del producto era twttr, inspirado por Flickr.  Al principio fue usado internamente por la compañía hasta que se lanzó oficialmente al público en octubre del mismo año. El servicio rápidamente comenzó a ganar adeptos, y en marzo de 2007 ganó el premio South by Southwest Web Award en la categoría de blog.

Jack Dorsey es el padre de esta aplicación web y actual presidente del Consejo de Administración de Twitter, Inc, empresa que surgió a raíz de Obvious, LLC y el éxito cosechado por Twitter. A principios de 2008, el equipo de Twitter estaba compuesto por 18 personas, durante 2009 han multiplicado su plantilla por cuatro y siguen creciendo.
